An exciting new position to join us at FLSmidth as a Logicstics Manager to organize and develop local logistics operations.

The position will be based in Pinkenba, QLD to start ASAP.

Job Responsibilities

  • Engages in implementation of and compliance to procurement and logistics policies, processes and reporting of KPI’s in alignment with Group directives, and leads specifically for logistics*
  • Engages with local management and regional GLO management on strategic as well as tactical Logistics related matters, to ensure right and timely involvement
  • Ensures engagement in regional and global initiatives as well as running local activities in alignment with Group Procurement and achieves savings effectiveness through compliance to implemented regional and global category initiatives
  • Ensures execution of logistics activities to comply with business units specific requirements for cost, time, quality and risk minimization, including global compliance to import, export and customs requirements
  • Ensures that projects are executed according to aligned Logistics processes
  • Manages and develops the logistics logistics team and ensures collaboration and alignment with corresponding purchasing and Quality Control / expediting teams
  • Managers and prioritizes resources across own area of responsibility to meet functional business objectives
  • Prepares or gives input to annual local budgets when necessary in order to secure sufficient resources to achieve agreed objectives and conducts regular budget follow-up
  • Develops/ operational plans and schedules for work assignments in order to ensure cost efficiency and technical delivery on departmental level
  • Provides staff with specialist advice, knowledge sharing and coaching to enable staff to meet set expectations, and follows up on a regular basis to ensure technical delivery
  • Ensures that the logistics organization is involved in the early logistics activities and are involved with sales and PM in providing all transport prices and budgets
  • Promotes a culture of personal and team safety, including others who may be affected by the company’s operational activities

What you bring

  • Experience in a similar role as a Logistics Manager is essential
  • Experience managing teams, ideally teams across the APAC region
  • Manages, organizes and develops local logistics operations usually with a level of technical complexity.
  • Implementing and following operations to the achievement of  business objectives.
  • Focuses on delivering results on medium term tactics and operational targets within own functional area.
  • Establishes strategic initiatives in cooperation with regional logistics management.
  • Setting goals and objectives for team members for achievement of operational results. P
  • Ensures policies, practices and procedures are understood and followed by direct reports, customers and stakeholders.
