Key Responsibilities
- Examine customer technical and inspection specifications thoroughly.
- Develop the Manufacturing and Inspection Specification Procedure (MIS/MPS/ITP) in accordance with project requirements, ensuring incorporation of customer technical and inspection specifications along with relevant standards.
- Concise summarization and response to customer comments regarding the manufacturing and inspection specification procedure.
- Ensure meticulous maintenance of document revisions on the server.
- Scrutinize the Bill of Material and project delivery list.
- Evaluate job instruction sheets, material requisitions, bending and heat treatment procedures, and destructive test requests.
- Assess raw material Material Test Certificates (MTC) from suppliers or customers (if free-issued), especially in the absence of a material engineer.
- Prepare Technical Queries or provide clarification on technical deviations.
- Generate laboratory requests in alignment with customer specifications and standards, particularly when a material engineer is unavailable.
- Witness laboratory tests when a material engineer is not present.
- Review laboratory test reports when a material engineer is not available.
- Offer technical recommendations and advice for the project.
- Conduct a gap analysis of customer/code requirements against Cladtek capabilities or limitations.
- Coordinate with the welding and design team (under the technical department) for tasks requiring their expertise or responsibility.
- The technical engineer holds accountability for ensuring that technical specifications from the customer or requester, as well as specifications from relevant standards, are clarified and implemented in the technical bid clarification (pre-award) or manufacturing and inspection procedure (post-award), taking into consideration Cladtek’s manufacturing capabilities.
- Empowered to offer technical insights and guidance throughout the pre-award or bidding process.
- Endowed with the authority to scrutinize, verify, and endorse the Job Instruction sheet, Bill of Material, project delivery list, and Lab Request, under the guidance of the Technical Manager.
- Given the authority to sanction Manufacturing and Inspection Specifications (MIS/MPS/ITP) in accordance with instructions or in the Technical Manager’s absence.
- Authorized to approve gate passes and leave applications for subordinates when the technical manager and senior technical engineer are unavailable
Qualifications
- Have a Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Mechanical, Metallurgical, or Material Engineering.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience working with manufacturing companies or handling technical engineering matters in the oil and gas industries.
- Fluent in or understanding of organization-related tools and processes.
- Familiarity with or proficiency in using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Presentation) and Adobe Editor.
