Responsibilities:
Technical Management:
- Oversee all technical aspects of vessel operations, including maintenance, repairs, and upgrades.
- Develop and implement maintenance schedules and procedures to ensure vessels are operating safely and efficiently.
- Coordinate with engineering teams, contractors, and suppliers to address technical issues promptly.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards for vessel maintenance and operations.
Marine Operations:
- Manage day-to-day marine operations, including voyage planning, scheduling, and port operations.
- Coordinate with port authorities, terminal operators, and agents to ensure smooth vessel movements and cargo operations.
- Monitor weather conditions and navigational risks to make informed decisions regarding vessel routes and operations.
- Implement safety protocols and emergency procedures to ensure the security of vessels, crew, and cargo.
Crewing Management:
- Recruit, train, and manage a team of qualified crew members for assigned vessels.
- Ensure compliance with crewing regulations, including certifications, licenses, and medical requirements.
- Manage crew schedules, rotations, and assignments to maintain adequate staffing levels for vessel operations.
- Address crew welfare issues, performance evaluations, and disciplinary actions as needed.
Purchasing Management:
- Procure necessary supplies, equipment, and spare parts for vessel operations and maintenance.
- Develop and maintain relationships with vendors, negotiate contracts, and manage supplier performance.
- Monitor inventory levels and budget allocations to optimize purchasing decisions and cost efficiency.
- Coordinate with finance and accounting teams to ensure timely processing of invoices and payments.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Marine Engineering, Naval Architecture, or related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in vessel management or related maritime roles.
- Strong understanding of technical aspects of vessel operations, including marine engineering, navigation, and safety systems.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in Mandarin Chinese, both written and spoken, to effectively communicate with Chinese-speaking stakeholders.
- Proficiency in relevant software and systems for vessel management, such as fleet management software and navigation tools.
- Knowledge of international maritime regulations, industry standards, and best practices.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
